Registration & Participation
- How do we register?
Register through: https://girlscode.net/register/ - Will we be given a Telegram group link?
Yes, once you register, we will WhatsApp you the link. - We only have two members. Can we still join?
No. Each team must have 4 students guided by a teacher/mentor. - Is the workshop for teachers and students?
Yes, the workshop is for both students and teachers/mentors. A recording will also be provided after the session for your reference. - Will the workshop be announced after registration?
Yes, workshop details will be announced through the Telegram group and the Girlscode website. - What is the maximum number of teams allowed per school?
A maximum of 8 teams per school is allowed.
Competition Format & Requirements
- Is there a theme to follow?
No specific theme. Teams can choose any real-world problem in their community to focus on. - Will we build the app in Stage 1?
No, app building is not part of Stage 1. - When does app creation happen?
App creation takes place in Stage 2. - Are the requirements different for seniors and juniors?
Yes. In Stage 2, senior teams must also submit Market Research and Unique Selling Point.
(This is not required for junior teams.) - If students are working on their project, who can they refer to for help?
Students can refer to their teacher or mentor who is guiding the team. We also have Girlscode mentors available to support teams. However, students are encouraged to take initiative and problem-solve independently as part of the learning experience.
Prototype & Tools
- Can the prototype be a drawing?
Yes, it can be a paper or digital drawing. - Do we need to use Figma or similar tools?
Not required. You may use any tool, including Figma, if you’re going digital. - Can we use Canva to create the prototype?
Yes, Canva is a good option for visual prototyping. - Can we use any app to build the prototype?
Yes, any mobile app development tool is allowed. However, only teams using MIT App Inventor will be able to receive support from our mentors.
While guidance is available, teams are encouraged to explore and troubleshoot independently.
